Easton Arts Council Invitational Art Exhibit Coming Soon

We're entering a lovely paper abstract in the upcoming Invitational Art Exhibition planned by the Easton Arts Council May 16 to June 4 at the Easton Library.

Dance of the Falls, paper abstract/woven painting

Dance of the Falls is a classic example of my mother's lovely and colorful woven paintings. The artist Paula Renee developed this novel technique to merge her two passions -- painting and weaving -- by carefully cutting or tearing her paintings into vertical strips and then weaving them back together on the loom, creating a unique three-dimensional effect.

The arts council's 20th anniversary celebration will take place in the library's community room with an opening reception on Saturday, May 21 at 7 p.m.

See you there!

Spring is in the Air

The Richter Association for the Arts wrapped up its spring "Hearts and Flowers" show in Danbury recently, and like so many of our ephemeral spring flowering bulbs, the exhibit made a brief, two-week appearance and then disappeared too quickly. I hope you made it over there in time to catch it, where you would have seen these two little beauties on exhibit.
