Paula Renee’s Art Heralds the Season of Celebration at The Barn Gallery

A new exhibit showcasing the work of acclaimed artist Paula Renee will usher in the month of December and continue through year’s end at The Barn Gallery on Route 37 in New Fairfield, Connecticut, gallery owner Sue Newton announced today.

The exhibit features an eclectic variety of woven tapestries, framed abstracts on paper, oils and “woven paintings,” Paula’s signature technique of combining her two passions – weaving and painting – into a single, three-dimensional medium.

The exhibit, curated by the artist’s daughter, represents a journey of self-discovery and celebration of the creative spirit.  Included in the show are several oils from the artist’s Cosmic series that depict the fluid movement of the universe, as well as “Reflections,” a framed weaving depicting an Antarctic moon rise. Also included in the show is “Origami in Flight,” an abstract woven painting with an origami-like quality reminiscent of birds on the wing.

The work of multi-media artist Paula Renee resides in major public, corporate and private collections, including the Presidential Suite and 17 lobbies of Tobu Hotel in Kinshicho, Japan; National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India; West Point Chapel; GE Capital; Stouffers Resort; Sheraton Hotel; Ramada Inn; IBM; AT&T; Travelers; New York Telephone; and Olin Corp, among numerous others.

The Barn Gallery is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursdays, noon to 6 p.m.  For more details, please call 203-746-4502.

Paula Renee's New Solo Exhbition at the Avance Day Spa

Inner Source, from the Cosmic series, oil on canvas, 14 x 11", $300

We're excited to announce a new solo exhibition of Paula Renee's work at the Avance Day Spa Gallery in Newtown, Connecticut.

This 31-piece show, which runs through October 31, showcases an eclectic selection of oil on canvas, Paula's unique "woven paintings," multi-media and beautiful woven tapestries. The show was thoughtfully curated by Newtown resident Rosemary Rau to complement and enhance the restorative experience of spa clientele in a peaceful and relaxing environment.

From a whimsical group of hot air balloons gently floating above a mountain lake to a pair of woven waterfall paintings, Paula's work exudes a playful and contemplative approach reflecting an appreciation for the natural world around us.  Whether you define relaxation as a view of palm trees on a tropical beach, a distant sailboat plying the ocean waves or simply considering the infinite mystery of the origins of the universe, you'll find all these subjects interpreted in novel ways in Paula's work.

You can stop in to view the show during the following hours:
